Stephen James  |  DO
Dr. James is an Orthopedic Surgeon. He received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from George Fox University in 1987 and received his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacfific in 1991, then complete his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital of the Michigan State University College of Medicine in 1996. Following residency, Dr. James completed his Orthopaedic Spine fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1997. Currently, Dr. James is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The North American Spine Society, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. James is also an instructor at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he has taught thousands of surgeons over the years. He has developed spinal surgical devices and spinal implants that are still used today.
In his free time, Dr. James enjoys flying his plane and is involved in Angel Flight which gives gives free medical travel to those who suffer from cancer and terminal illness. He has also taken medical mission trips to Bolivia and Kenya and flew a medical mission to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
