Regional Medical Group’s new initiative RMG Cares donated $10,000 to Atlanta-based nonprofit Hosea Helps at their 50th anniversary of Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless Thanksgiving event on November 26, 2020.

Atlanta, GA December 7, 2020 — Since launching a new initiative called RMG CaresRegional Medical Group has pledged to support local Atlanta charities this holiday season. The two charities of choice were Hosea Helps and The Urban League of Greater Atlanta.

Hosea Helps is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that helps prevent homelessness among working families. Hosea Helps also ensures that students have access to school supplies and that individuals, families, and senior citizens have hot holiday meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year.

The Urban League of Greater Atlanta focuses on preparing African Americans to enter the workforce for careers in the 21st century and the new economy; raising the graduation rate among metro Atlanta students and preparing youth for college and careers; homeownership and wealth creation; entrepreneurship and small business growth; sustainable communities; and serving as an advocate for education, civic engagement and economic development and a voice for the underserved in their community. They are a dedicated person-to-person organization invested in the economic success of African-Americans; coaching them to a better life.

In a stunning move, Dr. Mark Schwaiger, CEO and Chairman of RMG, was seen discreetly giving families at the event twenty-dollar bills as a show of support during these uncertain times. Fortunately, the Fox 5 Atlanta news team recorded Dr. Mark Schwaiger handing out money to a woman in need and ran the clip as part of their evening news segment. To watch the full video, visit

An RMG staff member had this to say, “It’s just like Dr. Schwaiger to quietly slip people a little extra something. He’s always taking people aside and asking how he can help. It’s just in his DNA. That’s why we love working for him, and we all jumped at the chance to donate our time here today. It’s not surprising at all that he’d step away from all the cameras and talk to people one on one in private.”

Going above and beyond that, Dr. Mark Schwaiger also donated a total of $20,000 to Hosea Helps, in hopes to further continue their mission to provide families with a Thanksgiving and Christmas to remember and over 450 frozen turkeys, $500 worth of canned goods, and a new learning management system set up by January 2021 for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta.
